Advocating to redefine the narrative of survivorship for young adults
Hey, I’m Callie.
At 37, my life flipped upside down—I was diagnosed with stage IV double expressor lymphoma. One day, I was chasing dreams, and the next, I was in the fight of my life. What was supposed to be a “pause” turned into a relentless three-year battle against aggressive cancer. Chemo, intrathecal chemo, more chemo, radiation, CAR T-cell transplant… I stopped counting when my MyChart hit 400 test results.
But surviving wasn’t just about getting through treatment—it meant facing a whole new reality. I lost my career, my independence, and my fertility. My body didn’t feel like mine anymore. The fearless entrepreneur who thrived on risk and adventure? Gone. I was exhausted, grieving the life I once had, and trying to build a new one—all while still sick and completely unprepared.
That’s why I created this space—to be the resource I wish I had. Because let’s be real, navigating cancer as a young adult is lonely as hell. The system wasn’t built for us. We’re not just trying to survive; we’re trying to rebuild careers, relationships, and futures, all while managing the chaos cancer leaves behind.
I talk about the things no one prepares you for—the trauma, the healing, and that weird in-between where you're technically in remission but still feel like a mess. I believe in blending both traditional and alternative health because real wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all (or shall I say one-side-fits-all). More than anything, I want this space to be a community that empowers cancer survivors to move past the trauma and into a state of growth.
So if you’re here—whether you’re in the fight, on the other side, or just trying to make sense of it all—welcome. You’re not alone in this.
